Three Drops from a Cauldron: Midwinter 2017 will be open for submissions from the 20th October to 20th November. By Midwinter I mean the solstice, so we want poetry and flash concerning lore and legend surrounding the darkest time of the year, as well as the gradual return of the light. This edition will be published online and in print on Monday 11th December.
These will be our last two seasonal specials until January 2019! Kate will be taking an extended break from them while she gets her head around parenting three teens, a toddler, and a new baby. (The web journal will be on a publishing break from December 2017-April 2018, and return in May 2018.)
**2018 Themed Anthologies**
We will be publishing just two anthologies (in addition to our regular monthly web journal) in 2018.
Changelings & Faery Rings: An Anthology of Elemental Creatures & Nature Spirits will open for submissions from Monday 16th April-Friday 22nd June 2018, to be published in July/August 2018. This anthology will be edited by Kate Garrett, and will be quite different to our usual anthologies, in that it will be pocket-sized! Page, font size, and margin guidelines will be provided with the call for submissions when the time comes, to ensure your poetry doesn’t turn out to be disappointingly… big for the book. (Prose can fit in anywhere, so that shouldn’t be much of an issue – but we will be looking for 750-words-or-less flash and micro fiction for this one.)
Star Maps & Planets’ Paths: An Anthology of Astrology & Celestial Myths will open for submissions from Monday 27th August-Friday 19th October, to be published in November/December 2018. This anthology will be edited by Kate Garrett, with guest editor Amanda Oaks of Words Dance Publishing.
